Has any one worked at Best Buy, Moes, or Red Lobster? What are some good places for a 16 year old to work at?
Regarding Moes, Best Buy and Red Lobster.... What are usual minimum age to work there and what is the expected starting wage? What are some other cool places that i could work at, i turn 16 in one month. Thanks for input.

- I had friends that worked at both best buy and red lobster and they seemed to like it, though they were both older when they worked there. Typical jobs for a 16-year old include working in a restaurant, a grocery or department store, babysitting, yard work, or at a movie theatre. Hope this helps.
- You have to be 16 to work at Best Buy. My brother used to work there and he absolutely hated it. They don't treat their employees very well....and you have to try and sell warrenties with everything, which no one wants to buy. But the good news is...once you work there, almost any retail establishment will hire you.....they like the "values" that Best Buy preaches. As for Red Lobster, I think you have to be 18 to work there because they serve alcohol. You could be a busser, though. I'd imagine you'd make pretty good money. The more tips the server makes, the more tips the bussers make...and at a place like Red Lobster, with higher prices, you can bet the servers are bringing in pretty good money. For Red Lobster, you can expect to start out at minimum wage or slightly below, plus tips. For Best Buy...you can expect to start out around 50 cents more than minimum wage, give or take. I have no idea what Moes is.
- I realize this will be hard to believe, but McDonalds is fine - I worked their from 15-18, the work is hard but the training is good and the people are all your age and usually fun to be with. Minimum wage varies by state or province, just ask and they'll tell you. None of the places you mention will mess with you by trying to pay less than minimum wage or shorting your hours. Cool places (in my son's opinion) would include a video store like Blockbuster or a games retailer like EB Games, but there will be lots of competition for the job as a result. Good luck.
- try working at your local YMCA... my youngest brother who is 17 works there and he just swims and plays basketball most of the day.
